Amid the current chaos in Afghanistan, our desire remains to help Afghanistan and the Afghans break the spiral of poverty, violence and injustice. Our vision and mission is unchanged!

In the short term, we will mainly focus from the Netherlands on the urgently needed help. This help will be committed to:

– Safety of people.

– Restarting projects where possible.

– Providing food aid.

Unfortunately, the chaos of the past few months has not done any good for the food supply in the country. There are major shortages at the moment, and unfortunately, malnutrition has been a major problem in recent years.

We hope that you – like us – will continue to work for the Afghans. More than ever they need our help.

Why Village of Peace?

We do not believe in development aid. If you really want to help a country, the responsibility for the change must lie with the Afghans themselves.

We train and coach the local communities to be able to tackle their own problems. A change in thinking, doing and ownership is central to them doing so.
Working exclusively with Afghans, we intentionally keep our main Dutch office as small as possible.
Our network of Afghan professionals is reliable, both inside and outside the country. The network enables us to operate in a culturally and politically sensitive manner. Our projects and social enterprises are all led by passionate Afghan managers, who are committed to doing an emotionally sound job.
